Say hello to.....

Hole in my Pocket

is the creative brainchild of Mr Allistair J Burt

Mr. Burt is an architect/ artist based in Glasgow who has worked under the banner of Hole in my Pocket on a range of different projects over the past few years, from short films for Channel 4, to building a Victorian Storytelling Machine for the new Museum in Shetland, to trying to solve the MP’s Expenses fiasco through creative means to forming their own religion at The Arches last year.

Our favourites are his intricately hand painted Russian dolls - currently we love the sailors, but (not so) secretly want them all - Adam & Eve, a brass band, dragons....  But there will also be cards, prints and art books for your pleasure!

May's Magpie Market has a little something for everyone. Lots of things for the discerning child in your life....

A Magpie favourite Carmenland, will be joining her fellow Craft Reactor members with her monsters, books & t-shirts.

Little Bad Idea makes fun jackets for the under 5's. Each one is themed, this is the Shark (my favourite!) and they have movable patches and shark teeth hood! There's also t-shirts, bags and more!

Nameless Wonders is the brainchild of Karen MacDonald, a Glasgow based artist. She creates fantastic limited edition, hand sewn creatures, from pigeons and highland coos to slightly more bizarre monsters!

Visit her website for more information.

Visit Magpie Market at The Hub on May 8th to marvel at and take home one of these fabulous creations!

May 8th

Vendors have now been selected for May's Magpie Market and we'll be introducing them to you over the coming weeks. In the mean time we're working on some other little treats and things to make this Magpie the best yet! Feel free to share the poster above with your networks, print it out, share it and spread the word!

I've just added the Magpie Application form to the blog in the form of it's own page over there ----->

I think it makes the whole application process a lot easier and more transparent. Be sure to read the terms and conditions, which are also over there --->

Not long left until the closing date for Mays market, so get applying!

Magpie Market 2011

Whoop! Well, we're very pleased to announce our new venue for 2011 - The Hub! We're very excited, we'll be there every couple of months, with our first dates being...

Sunday 8th May
Sunday 17th July

We'd love you to set up shop with us for the day and with more space to fill we're after more stall holders, so, if you're an artist, designer, crafter or vintage seller (or anything else we might not have thought of that you think might work) and would like a stall, please get in touch - email us magpiemarket(at)gmail.com to request an application pack! Please email even if you've exhibited with us before as we're trying to refine our seller database and don't want to miss anybody out!
